Was it built from cheap composites?

I agree the 8 second delay does make things more difficult to explain through software. I know I asked this before AD went down, but what are the most likely contaminants? Fungi?

I asked right after the incident when the last software upgrade happened. I strongly suspect it is a contributing factor.
