Tried to see Sully speak at the Museum of Flight in Seattle a few weeks ago. Standing room only and weren't letting anyone else in in accordance with fire code. It was amazing.

Four Americans among the dead...and Kevin Costner was about to film a series of commercials for Turkish Air....If only this had been done beforehand; Costner cures all.

Re: THY Turkish 737-800 crash lands at Amsterdam

Yahoo listed the three pilots of the plane, two of whom were killed.

1) Was there a standby pilot, i.e.the third?

2) Looking at the cockpit and relative lack of damage I assume if the cause of death was simply blunt force trauma in the impact.

Re: US Air Plane down in the Hudson River in NYC

Sorry if I missed this but was the Ditching mechanism/button/functionality engaged? Looks like there is no confirmation yet. Seems like the non-flying pilot would have had time to engage the button before impact no? I would assume it would be part of protocol..

Pretty dramatic video; plane seems to not be sinking, at least not quickly; this is deep water apparently. Coast guard dropping life jackets to passengers. A320.
