Re: Air Canada 777 tail strike

Interesting that this reads like a PIOish roll problem more than excessive pull up.

Are people sometimes prone to getting into PIO problems in big aeroplanies?

I thought the problem was more with small, high performance planes like Lear jets and MU-2s...

Re: 757 troubles. the latest news

The 757 is dead and buried. Please don't dance on its grave.
Noted.

But do not forget that A-319/20/21 are flying in its place.

Cheap Airline not Maintaining Aeroplanies- Risk placement on Evan's no-fly list.

Re: Flight report Feb 2019

I seem to recall Gabieeee is returning to Uhmurica via DFW today (2/15/2019) We will see if there are further incidents of "going technical" and not arriving here or there on time. Over six legs Gabieee and I have three aircraft swaps (I guess AA is better than United, although we are comparing nowh...

Re: Air Canada 777 tail strike

How does smashing the airplane's fuselage into the runway qualify as a "good" landing? Please explain in 10,000 words or less.
Everybody walked away + aeroplanie can be reused (after some duct tape and zip ties) = excellent landing.
Fixed.

How do we feel about the new green plan for USA...

I know this is politically dangerous, but...

-I find it rather extreme.

-I laugh that Evanie seems to like it.

-I know I may be bit red for the enlightened group here, but I would like to point out that this plan calls for large scale elimination of aeroplanies.

Its Done https://www.cnbc.com/2019/02/14/airbus-a380-superjumbo-the-rise-and-fall.html Frankly, I thought it was done when FedEx canceled their order. When an airplane that large can't be efficiently operated even as a freighter, one get serious doubts if there is an economic case for it at all. "O...

Re: Convair C-131 double-engine failure and ditching, 1 dead 1 injured.

Speculation in this forum has it as mis-fueling with Jet-A Fixed. Does Jet-A float over 100LL? Because the pane flew a good while at constant speed and altitude before starting to descend. I don’t know every last Evanesque detail of every airplane, but imagine multiple tanks... Gratuitous speculati...

Since it involves SI units and soccer, I could not care less. I’m guessing the temperature was in the 20s.

As flyboy likes to remind us, I imagine there is paperwork involved.

Hey, 3WE, every aeroplanie you get in immediately explodes in one way or another (OK, not always immediately , shimmy dampers tend to explode on landing) or gets covered in 50 M of snow .
