Re: What do we know about Metroliners?
The answer is now clear: Metroliners are dangerous because they have crappy brakes!

“It’s usually not_turbulence”
Quote = Orange Man (paraphrased): “It’s usually not_turbulence.” He seemed to have a nice list of examples, even though I tend to disagree. While we certainly have examples of aeroplanies and pilots putting passengers on the ceiling, I think these things are usually turbulence, and certainly can be ...

Re: What do we know about Metroliners?
Okay one more thing: they're powered by Garrett (Honeywell) TPE331 engines, which are single-shaft, and have the intake in the front and the exhaust at the back, as God intended. I approve.  Indeed! So many turbo shaft engines seem to run air and exhaust so many crazy directions when you...

Electric airplanes: No CO2, Climate change reversed, less intense weather and turbulence.

What do we know about Metroliners?
I recall flyboy referring to them by a joke name, but I THOUGHT they were an OK aeroplanie? “Widowmaker, Death Pencil, Terror Tube and other nicknames” imply above average on the did-died the paying passengers potentiometer. Never rode one, I can imagine it might be uncomfortable for folks besides G...

As you might expect, 3WE has watched the cemetery from aeroplanies several times.…watching aeroplanies from a cemetery.
Indeed, it would be a convenient place to stall spin crash burn and did died.
Ironingly, Ozark 809 was a little bit short when it crashed.

Re: HISTORIC Traffic congestion at Flyover
(Wicked cool jetphoto) TWA = "Three Wholer Airlines"? The 727 was THE most popular airliner for a very long time. And, yes, some older ones had the special oval inlet. Some hell better aeroengineer thought an oval was better…then the circular faction won out… All without PowerPoint...

Conspiracy theories will be offered.

Re: Near Total Turbulence Disaster
As stated above, the drop is certainly scary, but the subsequent pull up is where the cheap composites are exposed to stress..I like that moment where all passengers realize at the same time that they're in a cheap-composite-crackerbox.

Near Total Turbulence Disaster
While I trust the industry for safe flight, this look a couple of standard deviations unpleasant and this (and the following ‘relentless’ pull up) would trigger a good dose of foffieness and prayer in me.

Re: An interesting theory
To clarify: What I’m getting from DAN is the approach being insidiously bad. The steepening approach path with horrendously bad timing causes the pilot to be ever so slightly behind… WITH VERY CRAPPY TIMING Descending fat, dumb, happy and competently. Ok, I’m high, I need to correct…look away briefl...

DAN Juan is batshit crazy…
BUT
Is he basically correct that the gal did almost nothing wrong hitting a lightless tower that basically was in a reasonable, instrument-enhanced glide path?

https://youtu.be/JGnUexrYlwY?si=7DYklz9l5RIUbj0F Ok, Evanie, and Gabe and I all fell for the outsider trap. WHY ISN’T SOMEONE SIMPLY FLIPPING THE BREAKER AND SIMPLY HITTING THE FIRE WITH AN EXTINGUISHER?!?!???? But then we think about it a bit more and realize there ARE breakers and guarded switches...
