Re: Good For Delta - Crackdown on Comfort Animals

My personal reflection is that this is some form of corporate responsibility bullshit that they were forced to do in the first place and this is simply a return to "normal operations" - most reasonable sane people do not want to share cabin space with an animal that is terrified/confused/tired/frust...

Re: Server Crash 10 year Anniversary

I'm proud to say I was there.
I'm proud to say I sat next to you!

I am disappointed to this day that I did not meet Al Weaver (he had left by the time I arrived). I have wanted to meet Al since 2004/5!

Re: Turbulent Landing

Absolutely tremendous job by the crew, all kidding aside.
Yes, very impressive. But it does beg the question - why - surely that amount of movement and buffeting calls for another go once it has died down a bit.

I hope that no drinks were spilled.
I think it's likely that many lunches were spilled, that was a rollercoaster. Nasty.

Re: Squid lures 737 into sea.

Once again a gross misinterpretation of what happened.

The crew just decided their pax would like a nice trip to the beach, and decided to take them there!
Please, check the facts.

RoG, some of your submitted llogos will be used in rotation this year.
The logo does not have to have "airdisaster.info" in it. We all know where we are.

Re: PANIC AT TORONTO!

A lot - and I mean a lot - of different factors depend on how people will react. - Who is on the plane and how prone they are to panic - What is the context of the flight (start, middle, end) and how has it been - Time of day - "awakedness" of people - Cultural issues and readiness to panic Panic is...

Re: PANIC AT TORONTO!

It does appear that the wing tip strikes the rear part - that is how I interpreted it with these passenger eyes. What irritates me hugely is the panic within the cabin and the excitable idiots that stand up and start freaking out.

The papers are full of it this morning. The CEO was apparently "good". The plane according to the coast guard is in "12 metres of water".

If anyone wants to drink and drive without much trouble, come to Not_Karlieland. Until recently you could even kill someone while reckless driving, drunk or not, without strong legal consequences, but apparently (I hope) this has changed. This is still the case in the UK. "Causing death by dangerou...

I asked because I had heard the trope mentioned previously by others and wondered if there was a genuine cabal of people who believed they should not be present on aircraft.

Re: Interesting (recent) total air disasters

NK, serious question, do you really believe that reverse thrusters should not be used on aircraft? Lauda air was a terrible event, but given that they are used thousands of times each day without incident and that they are a useful armoury in the toolset of stopping, ... why? I have heard this trope...
