Re: As the year draws to a close.....

Thanks M,
Yeah, I have been absent from a lot of things the past couple of years, hopefully this move back to Denmark will remedy that ;-)

Very few flights for me, all boring, 6x A330, 2x 738 in real life, then a sh.., sorry, truck load of flights with various aircraft on our tower sim, several with less than desired outcome, had it been real life ;-) 2017 should bring me back to Denmark and operational life at a tower, which shall rem...

Re: Norwegian stalls Dreamliner purchase talks

ALPA is running radio ads in the DC market calling on DOY Secretary Foxx to refuse to allow the airline to serve the US. The funny thing is that Norwegian's senior Thai cabin crew on average stake home lightly more than their US colleagues, juniors slightly less. Us Norskies are off course making w...

One would not have him in bad health, what with his new job and all. One would rather sacrifice own.

Re: Finally! Jobhunting is over

Congratulations, Sir G! How long will you spend there? Forgive my ignorance, but do you take the family or go out for 'tours of duty'? Thanks. On the family front, well, that institution has gone down the drain, I am afraid. we are going our separate ways. Will be hard to be away from my daughter f...

Re: Finally! Jobhunting is over

Yeah, Greenland is a bit off the beaten track, depending on your vantage point, of course. Narsarsuaq is only a bit further North than Oslo, so that will not be too bad light wise over The winter. In The summer I could in theory be stationed at any airport and thus have a great opportunity to see mo...

Finally! Jobhunting is over

I might have put this in the Aviation Discussion, or evenAviation Safety Discussion forum, but it will probably do fine here. After a number of years trying to get a foothold in some kind of IT related job, I have now got a job with my former employer and in my former position: Greenland Airport Aut...

No it isn't, the lions are fed raw meat on the bone as they are in any good zoo all over the world.

The whole story about the giraffe just shows how far removed many people are from the reality of life.

Re: Practicalities CPH airport and city

Parking in central Copenhagen is hell, these days we always use public transport going to the city. (Of course it helps to be working there and using the system every day, so all rides are already paid for. ) There will likely be more commercial life in Copenhagen on Good Friday, the legislation on b...

Me-109 belly landing at EKRK 2013-08-18

Close to home at the Roskilde Airshow, the EADS Me-109 seemingly suffered an engine failure and made an off field landing. Broken propeller the only visible damage. http://www.bt.dk/krimi/tysk-jagerfly-noedlandet-under-airshow-ved-roskilde http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3823839/Bf_109_...

Re: The Death of Warsaw Pact Transports

(....that looks like it would be quite a job to secure for landing....)

But given that it seems to have caught fire during engine start, probably not.
This was after landing, I didn't go flying with the thing. But the amount of smoke from the engines at take-off was amazing.

And then you haven't been ahead of the aircraft and realized that your were heading into dangerous territory. The problem lies in the ability/willingness to reach that realization and do the only prudent thing, go around. Hunting the landing is not a sound principle, and sometimes you just have to r...
