Re: DP,FB, new security measures, tell me it ain't so?

David--in a low level constant threat enviroment there is no security measures that will 100% work . These guys are constantly probing for the hole in the fence . The real problem with profiling is it works and takes the thin illusion of equality between peoples/religions/regional areas. So what do...

Re: American Airlines Flight #331 Runway Overrun at MKJS

Quite strange the fence of the airport is so little damaged. Seems as if only the fuselage hit it, not the wings and the engines.

Do do something I would. Happy, Happy birthday to our favorite Swede!
Per is for sure still digesting his festivities' beverages of yesterday's party, otherwise this site would have exploded by now!...

Re: MD-11 landing snafu

Gabriel, Your response is quite disappointing... I get your point but the whole emergency slide tangent is not needed. My point is we should analyze when a "harder-than-acceptable landing" become a airframe damaging (or worse) event? ? The answer is he does not know . I will also tell you...

I sense a feeling that ride reports should be reserved for "moderate" turbulence. However, true modearate turblence is going to generate a genuine percentage of horrified passengers who- at best will ream the pilots on deplaning and at worst, become disruptive in the cabin or complain to ...

If memory serves me well it was at Yahoo Groups and was in the time the first Space Shuttle exploded on take-off. Hmmm. something doesn't add up: Challenger broke up in 1986, Yahoo was founded in 1994. You're correct, it was on e-groups as I wrote in the first posting of this thread, Yahoo bought t...

Is it a complex task to put the alerting lights (mentioned in the article) flashing in the respective location insted of steady on such as to alert the crew of whatever is being displayed? Anyone of you know something about it? Electronic Flight Bag (EFB)? http://www.boeing.com/commercial/flightops/efb.html No, an EFB is sort of a "side screen" fixed to the structure of the cockpit and shows maps among other things. See: http://www.navaero.com/ What I mean are real laptops ...

Re: Laptops and loop holes.

When I board planes of a certain (big) company here in Europe it's usual to get to see laptops deployed on either side (captain and F/O) when boarding the plane and up to now I am convinced they have stored there special check-lists or even the lay-out of the specific airport they're in, the runways...

About a week ago, a TAP A320 enroute to Copenhagen EKCH lost radio contact for 250 miles. 2 German F-4's were scrambled, 10 minutes after being alerted they had intercepted the A320, radio contact was re-established and the aircraft continued without further incident to the destination. No reason f...
