Re: Another Old Member Surfaces

Oh, this reminds, gotta get my daughter to kindergarten.... Small children - small problems; Big children - big problems. Simple as it is. I hate to say "it's him who started-no it's him who started" But he came with his remark "I am a pilot and you are a chop chucker" And it do...

I trust the intellectual challenges in said kindergarten do by far exceed those in this tread.

Re: Another Old Member Surfaces

By the way, Per, Thanks for defending me. Everybody knows the meaning of ' To have class'. Some don't want to know it or pretend not to know it, that's why they are 'dummschwätzen'. I nowhere said I would have class and I didn't brag with my occupation. At least I can say that I probably make double...

Re: What happened in Luxembourg?

Do you have any statistics showing accidents per capita, ages and sex of the drivers and causes? It could be interesting to see how Lux fares against, for instance, Denmark on this. Judging by the frequency which you post severe accident photos, it seems the population of Luxembourg is in a fast de...

Re: DC Metro Crash

I'm surprised J hasn't posted this yet, but we had quite a train disaster in the DC area yesterday afternoon. Automated systems are supposed to keep these trains apart with operators providing a manual backup in case of system failure. Clearly, at least two holes in the cheese lined up. I was waiti...

Re: Moon Bomb

The LRO is now on orbit. LCROSS is going someplace we have never been before: a permanently shadowed crater at the south pole of the moon. The trip is being made to study the source of hydrogen that has been measured at the lunar poles by the previous Lunar Prospector mission. LCROSS will make an im...

Re: Air France jet missing

A spokes-person from the French AIB says that it is not confirmed to be the recorders they have found. Following an article from the LeMonde, weak signals, which could be the signals from the recorders, were captured, but still not localized. Today the 'l'Ifremer' submarine should go to check it ou...

Qantas jet in the dark on turbulence risk

Article from: The Australian THE inability of radar on a Perth-bound Qantas Airbus to detect ice crystals will be at the centre of an air safety investigation into severe turbulence that threw passengers out of their seats, injuring up to 12 people. The A330-300 aircraft plunged suddenly over Borne...

Re: Another Old Member Surfaces

In Canada, it is a bit of a conundrum. If you go through and get BEng, you cannot legally call yourself an 'Engineer' until you get the PEng (PE in the US). Ed I'm not so sure of how I should feel, sitting as a pax in airliner that was designed by people who are professional Peng 's  Does ...

Some good photos here of the Lufthansa lower deck options on an A340-600.

But those are probably 'fixed' Crew Rest Compartments, unlike the one found at the AF-crash site, which was a part from a Mobile Crew Rest located in the aft cargo deck for that fateful flight.
