Re: Ballistic chute shenanigans

Some days ago a small plane crashed in Brazil. Three people died (one in the plane, two on the ground), three passengers survived, parachute clearly visible in the pictures. "It's a Cirrus", said Not_Karlie. "it must have been used by one of the survivors", said the media. https://www.clarin.com/mun...

I feel like we should be doing something, or at least ranting about Wall Street, greed, human nature, and the fact that sometimes, excrement transpires.
And asking for curtains.

I wonder what's the status on the door issue.
I heard they're going to replace the doors with curtains.

Re: How often do you make sudden, hard braking during taxi?

How many PSI are in a popcorn kernel before it pops, on average, roughly, Don't know, but I would be very dissapointed if it were less than 3000PSI. Edited: Wikipediaie: The internal pressure of the entrapped steam continues to increase until the breaking point of the hull is reached: a pressure of...

Re: B-17 Hartford/Bradley

So if the people rebuilding an old plane have the right skills and motivation and budget, they might be able to identify and mitigate failure modes that were not anticipated way back when. Imagine when, 80 years from now, they fix the 737 Max... It's a shame Airbus' crappy composites will be long d...

Re: 2 former pilots...

Let's put it this way: If the company says "no activities unrelated to the operation of the airplane below 10000 ft" and "use of PEDs forbidden in the cockpit" and I have not one but both pilots simultaneously videoing the fireworks in a stadium thought the side window in a final approach at 500ft ...

Having started with FS2 in the Commodore 64, with a frame rate of 1 frame per second (literally), I rate anything above 10 fps acceptable, above 20 fps really good, and above 24 fps superfluous luxury (I don't need a better frame rate than a cinema). Well, the Not_videocard (iGPU) of my PC is proba...
