Umberto Tozzi

flyboy...a man of amazing knowledge...

Give that man some epaulets.
As was the case with a great many Soviet kids of the time, I was very heavily into early to mid-80s Italian pop.

Re: News from Flyover, America

One of relatively few songs whose English cover was a lot more popular than the original, not to mention just sounded better. Umberto Tozzi wrote some great stuff in Italian, but this one is just a lot more expressive in English.

Re: FAO Everyone

Can you perchance give me a Cliff's Notes version of what you two are banging on about over there? There is no way I'm reading all that waste of bandwidth. Yes: 3BS- “Maybe future aircraft won’t be that much more complicated.” (Said in excessively wordy posts.) Gabieee- “Engine power controls and c...

Re: FAO Everyone

Is Gabrielism better than Evanism? I think so, but am not sure. They're pretty much the same thing. Probably why those two get along so famously. Not sure how much longer I can take being a passenger. Forgotten flaps, FLCH mode + airspeed monitoring, Relentless pull ups, Dual ELACAS failures, Crews...

Re: Evan more cockpit wrestlemania

Gross pilot error that the Moscow boys took 40 seconds to activate fire suppression. Flyboy, since when did you have a system to suppress fires after you plant an airplane, bust the fuel tanks and generate a crash-like fireball? Also, I wonder if my memory of my 16 YO bike crash has some analogies ...

Flyboy:
Do you recall any specific training on how to avoid and handle bounces, and please briefly describe it.

Yes, I do. I can describe it as effective.

Probably true, since the concept of keeping their empanadahole shut is entirely lost on some people.

Re: Myanmar E190 lands with nose gear retracted

Please, by all means, drop some RJ system acronyms...somehow, it's much more sexy coming from you than Evaniee...it's kind of fake when we drop acronyms... LOVE TO HEAR IT! And, if you have thoughts on the continued awesome "RJ-safety-record", we'd love to hear it. It is interesting to contrast tha...

Re: Myanmar E190 lands with nose gear retracted

Do EMB jets have lots of nifty acronym systems in them? I know the control wheel sure looks goofy- perhaps that's the secret to their great record?
Good question. I suppose you could ask someone who used to fly one. Or ask Tweedledee and Tweedleduh, either way.

Re: 3BS Remembers "The Penalty Box"

Thanks for pointing that out. Stared at an online diagram for several minutes yesterday before posting. I was also surprised to see the technical demise of former mega-runway 14R-32L- especially after they did all the pretty green stuff to highlight the shortened version of it. (Actually it's inter...

Are you ATLcrew? I don't understand the people that takes the time to quote you only to reply that they don't have the slightest interest in what you are saying. And do that over and over again. This must have a name in the psychology or psychiatry manuals. Funny you should mention those manuals. S...
