Air Jamaica 757 @ GEO

Not much detail on BBC, but seems to have returned to GEO with hydraulic problems after departure, then overrun on landing (due to said hydraulic problems?)

It seems that a fuel priming device failure resulted in the engine running too rich and consuming fuel too fast until it ran out.

Re: Boeing Deception: 777X Wing Actually Elongated 787 Wing

OK, I buy the argument that increasing the aspect ratio can decrease the induced drag. But what about the tip vortices? If a wing is simply stretched but has the same form and lifting profile at the tip, it’s going to generate much the same vortices at the tip The claim that winglet orientation is i...

Re: Boeing Deception: 777X Wing Actually Elongated 787 Wing

Winglets/sharklets are reckoned to economize 2-4% of fuel consumption, but the 777X's folding wingtips appear to lack them.

HOW DO I KNOW YOU ARE THE REAL KARL?
He is Not_me, so he obviously is Karl.
I suspect that this whole "Karl " business was just made up for a lark.

Wait a moment :?: ...Karl....Lark :o

At last, Alles ist_Klar

Phugoid.
Phugoid what?
Far be it from me to put words into another fellow's mouth, but the possibility that "phugoid" is intended as a somewhat contrived homonym cannot be excluded.

Indeed. 3WE may well have nailed it there.
As Julius Caesar once put it, "Veni, Vidi, Vici" - I came, I saw, I concurred. ;)
That is a wonderful pun.
You're welcome

I think that the plane is deviating to the left of the runway, hence the "oh crap". Not sure though. 3. Since we live for totally unsubstantiated parlour ta...
