That reminds me also of how ad.info was advertised as opposed to how it turned out in reality.

Re: Extreme Turbulence - Pirep

Since when is making your paying passengers sit through a crappy ride without trying to find a better one considered a "Badge of Honor' for an airline pilot? What's the matter, Mainliner, touched a nerve, did I? I dunno, maybe since it's kind of annoying to hear calls like "Uh...center, got any rid...

Re: Ldg/takeoff direction

It would be appreciated if you could refrain from baiting/insulting/provoking... That's a two-way street, el, and I'm getting a little sick of being the only one ever to be censored and to whom any kind of a standard seems to be applied. It would be appreciated if you could refrain from learning th...

Re: Extreme Turbulence - Pirep

Perhaps because he implied (not inferred!) that your flying and decision-making skills may be superior to big iron drivers? Oh, I doubt it (both that he implied it and that it is the case). In fact, my flying skills have always been pretty average. On the other hand, my situational awareness and sy...

Flyboy, if you quote, leave the quote untouched. Even if it's an attempt at humour. Thanks, el
I'm sorry, el, but could you point me to where in the TOU it says that? Or are you just pulling new rules out of your ass, Amy-style?

Re: Ldg/takeoff direction

I understand that being cleared more than a thousand times for something still qualifies as a tiny and negligible quantity by your high standards.
If it involves tiny and negligible you and your similarly tiny and negligible Traumahawk, then indeed and concur.

Re: Extreme Turbulence - Pirep

Makes sense. RJboy flies several legs a day, in a relatively smaller area, and is therefore more in tune to the regional winds and weather. You also get to make many more landings per day than your average wide-body pilot, and may be making several landings/day at the same airport and the same gene...

Re: So you want to be a pilot part II

Well, many Georgians like to make that claim.
Very true, just like they like to claim to know "A knight in a tiger's skin" by heart, which fewer than twenty actually do.

Re: So you want to be a pilot part II

A child of the GDR needs a lecture on tyranny from a Georgian, Comrade 2548m?
He does, I fear. My kind are so inept they are much more of a threat to themselves than to anyone else. And if you're referring to Uncle Joe, he was Ossetian and not Georgian, as is a common misconception.

Re: Industry Forums

I see forums for pilot, flight attendents, ATC-people, even maintenance. But where is the good 'ol manufacturing and design business? I know, when aircraft crash we are rarely responsible (we leave this honor preferrably to pilots & ATC, sometims to maintenance, sometimes all together), and even if...

Re: Ldg/takeoff direction

I've been cleared a lot of times to "Taxi into position and hold" BEHIND an airplane that had just started the T/O roll or was landing, never IN FRONT of it.
Gabriel, I doubt you've been cleared a whole lot of times for anything.

Sorry, Pipey, missed this little tidbit before. Now, do you remember what happened the last time your pathetic kind decided to run around the world declaring themselves the masters of all those "servants"? No? Too bad.

If you keep killing them and they still dont stop, you could consider that your own tactic is wrong and try something else.
Not necessarily. You keep killing until "they" are completely wiped out and the problem is thereby solved.

Re: Film of Georgian UAV shootdown

I just fail to see how the evidence is conclusive it's a MiG instead of a Sukhoi.
While I fail to see who cares. The actual aircraft used is of little relevance.
