There was a young man from Nantucket,

Did he died?
A witty and concise response in keeping with current board humor from 3WE. This truly is the season of miracles (well either that or the kimono clad cyber warrior is borrowing id's again).

Re: More situational ethics at Airbus.

It should have been found that there was shared blame.... wait a minute, there was, Continental, and John Taylor.... but, the fact that the Concorde is still parked leads one to suspect there is a serious design flaw and blame should be shared by more. Still? It did come back into commercial servic...

Why don't we give peace a chance?
Because ironically, half of the Beatles did died - by violence!
half of them is still alive and kicking - and only half of the half that did died did get died by killing, the other got died by dying.

Yeah Marty - get your red pen out and give your self a 10 minute ban! I would suggest longer, but with the weather here at the moment, cant afford to waste candles on the vigil.

Re: Boeing E-3A simulator

500 lines of code isn't really very much. Just the code for talking to a real battery in a laptop is more than that. 5000 is probably more reasonable for modeling a battery, although it depends heavily on what generic facilities the battery code can make use of. I'd guess the whole simulator is pro...

And now a QANTAS 747 SIN-SYD turns around with an Engine failure.
If any of the PAX were fugees from the A380, I would advise staying well away from them on future flights!

...Singapore Airlines has cabin crews of 23 on each of its A380s...
Which means 21 is about right for Qantas. Singapore need the extra 2 because they are so hot the pax keep 1 on each deck walking up an down the aisles just for eye candy.

[There's a rule of thumb- for a gentle level off, start at 10% of your vertical speed in fpm. I don't know if it holds up at 6000 fpm descent rates, but if you start leveling at 2000, you will be done at 1300 and the customers would only feel several seconds of a slowing elevator. Doesn't every lev...
