Re: Turbo prop with approx 68 passengers down in Central Cuba

Here is a reconstruction by Cuban "experts" (probably their experience is in MSFS) of the accident: (Sorry I could only find it in Spanish) http://www.elnuevoherald.com/2011/01/05/864178/expertos-cubanos-reconstruyen.html Among the jewels from the press, the article mentions that the airpl...

Re: Turbo prop with approx 68 passengers down in Central Cuba

OK. Let's go back to the real theme. Do you think that the CVR can exonerate the pilots from their bad work? Knowing Cuba and their conclusions, I think not. My personal thinking is that they are taking this voice recorder to cover their mistakes (pilots and government) and hide the reality. Problem...

Re: Turbo prop with approx 68 passengers down in Central Cuba

Even when up there weather can be nasty, I won't buy icing in this case, and no relation with American Eagle accident. Unless you are used to buy Fidel Castro's statistics, NO WAY JOSEI. I really believe that the same thing happened to this airplane than that of Camilo Cienfuegos. The difference is ...

Re: More Oooooooops!!!

I have no doubt that it was a very long flight. Whenever you hear an ATC facility tell another aircraft to call 'such and such' phone number upon landing, there's always a moment of silence on the radio frequency. I was once in the back of one of our planes commuting down to work as a passenger and...

In México we have the best of all the worlds....... I am not so sure about that - I think Afghanistan is safer than Mexico these days....it is on my list of places I could care less about if I never get to (even though it is very close AND I have friends that live there). I'm sure if you live there...

In México we have the best of all the worlds: You are called "Doctor" when you studied only medicine, (Human or Veterinary) or dentist. (The real titles are "Médico cirujano", "Médico Veterinario Zootecnista" or "Odontólogo"). You are called "Engineer&quo...

Wonder if that glideslope antenna will bend back.
Well, at least he was on it.

Definitely he was on it. My question is, to get such a result, was that intercepted from bellow or from up?

Charging for baggage becomes a security problem.

How many security issues can you imagine this form of avoiding paying baggage fees generates?

Re: Qantas A380 emergency landing in SIN

It has electric backups instead of a third hydraulic system. If two hydraulics systems can fail in a certain situation, then a third hydraulic system is not very likely to survive either. Why is that exactly, Peminu ? I can easily imagine a scenario on my airplane when any two systems can fail, yet...

Emergeny landing in Puerto Vallarta

This has been a busy day for aviation accidents, after the Qantas A380, ATR in Cuba, another in Pakistan, and this one in Puerto Vallarta, México: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtfLLBc7ZKI&feature=player_embedded I believe it is an old 737, but I cannot recognize the airline (probably a charter...

But saying a "look, I know better, this is the truth because I say it" attitude has never convinced me and never will, even if it comes from an expert. I need an explanation (not your strong, uh?) to understand things. I have always been like that, and that's one of the things of myself t...

No, I also have a passenger flight from DFW-HKG then operate HKG-MEM . Pretty sweet flying. That is really the scariest thing I have heard this Halloween! Just think what will happen in a passenger plane that big is you don't calculate correctly your supplies: the plane can easily crash from toilet...

Re: Friday Probability Problem

All answers obtained googling are wrong! With modern techniques and test tube babies, a lot of people are choosing the sex of their second child. Most of them will chose to have one boy and one girl, and even when some will prefer to have two of the same sex, I believe this will be a minority. So, w...

Probably linked to this accident, FAA alerts aircraft operators to results of new research on the risks of transporting lithium batteries as cargo. Interesting part is the mention that "The research also indicates that Halon 1301, the suppression agent found in Class C cargo compartments, is i...
