a BMW X-3 is a middle management fantasy wank-mobile incapable of been taken any further off road then a golf club carpark; the occupant of which has been conned by the marketing into driving round in a car which might as well proclaim in flashing lights " I am a self centered , conceited, sel...

Have any restrictions been imposed in the Fukushima area because of the nuke meltdown?

Breaking up after 20 years

I've decided to break up after exactly 20 years. Enough is enough. It's not that I'm not satisfied any longer - it's just that I feel I need a change. So, I went and ordered the all-new BMW X3 (F25) instead of a new Toyota LandCruiser (J15). I'm also getting the benefit of a signicantly lower fuel c...

Re: Japanese Reactor blown up?

The problem, methinks, is getting enough (sea)water to the fuel sticks to cool them down, right? There is a fairly-sized natural pond right next to the reactors. So if they can't get the water to the fuel sticks - why not throw the fuel sticks into that pond? I remember the US had that oversized pet...

I really like this passage, one could almost think someone like Douglas Adams wrote the report:
The passenger was unhurt as he passed through the canopy but totally perplexed by the sudden absence of anything around him
That is pure poetry!

What really, absolutely and deeply scares the sh*t out of me is this: For 3 days already the French government and French authorities have been saying that the cause is virtually lost, the catastrophe has already happened and nothing can be done anymore. This would be the worst possible time for Godzilla to make an appearance.
Let's hope things don't get worse....the last time Fuji erupted (1707) was shortly after a major earthquake.....
That thought crossed my mind as well when they reported a 6.something quake near Mt Fuji yesterday.
