A ~4-minute incident gets blown up into a ~90-minute Hollywood movie.
Maybe I'll just go hang out at an airport fence instead...maybe even take a camera.

I know this movie. I recall that cowboys decide to ignore procedures.I've always said that old people should be processed into Soylent Green.

I'm not sure that's all that much new information...just new data that aligns with old data.

Re: SIA 777 on fire...
... ... I guess I should check in over there... How many posts has Evanie made pontificating about potential mechanisms to cause such a fire, and procedures to address it? Have we spouted any good $20 jargon terms, or made derogatory comments about the pilots actions or the aircraft maintenance? Of...

Should I be worried that I find this livery attractive ? I'm all about the middle-ground-gray-area as opposed to black and white thinking... Awfully speculative there...Heat damage to the wing box may mean the whole wing gets scrapped. Airplane likely to be written off.

Very impressive fire and photos and glad that everyone seems to be OK. ...and to arm-chair it a bit, should we be doing a better job at getting the water/foam on the fire sooner???...One truck seemed to sit far back, with no water and then very painfully slowly approach the fire once it started spra...

That is indeed an option.
I just think you have a bit more of the inside track, as well as the ability to see "both sides" of the issue.... ...as well as newer sources...

Flyboy, please tell us how many minutes of ETOPS that 757's are operating at these days.
Thanks in advance...and apologies; because, like the autobrake business, ...we...are curious.

Unfortunately, traditional cowboy idiocy is all too common...It is. We say "I have control/you have control" which is close enough.Hmm... is the old "I have the aircraft" / "your aircraft" routine no longer in fashion?

...and all the dissection aside, the question really isn't THAT the plane spun in, but why (how) would someone spin a perfectly good plane in severe daytime VMC...(although that question may have some similarities as to why someone would stall a perfectly good plane for 36,000 feet in night IMC).

The actual crash. Spin, no doubt. http://www.infobae.com/america/eeuu/2016/06/11/video-la-impactante-caida-de-un-avion-sobre-un-auto/ By the way, it was a Cirrus, which struggles to recover from a spin , equipped with whole-frame parachute, and (reportedly) it fell from quite high. So either the pi...

I cannot believe that this photo was rejected by you expletive screeners. It’s a unique spotting location and a unique plane and who cares if I got the plane type wrong (looks like a 707 to me). I can’t see any dust spots and disagree with the over/under exposure complaints as well as the sharpening...
