Re: Norwegian exceptionalism

Is moose commonly consumed (other than road-kill)... e.g is it farmed for the dinner table and sold in supermarkets? It seems that the Soviet Union started in that direction, but without reaching commercial sustainability on the project. In Sweden, probably no farms exist, and I like this excerpt f...

Re: Burn, baby, burn!

Even taking into account that eye witnesses are notoriously unreliable, one to two hours for fire fighters to arrive on scene seems a very long time. I would hate being in a burning aircraft at that airport. (Well, any burning aircraft anywhere, but you get the point. I hope.)

True, but the pressure per square unit from one of her heels might well be greater than that of large military boot. Of course, I would not like to have my foot under either of them in any case.

That is so irresponsible, you should stay behind and help that poor storm get away from whatever is threatening it.

Re: Motorcycle-style throttle control.

I'll second what Chris just said, you will have a greater risk of changing the throttle setting when you get into a situation where a lot of yoke pulling/pusing/twisting is needed. Even on a motorbike that can be a problem, a sudden jerk of the front wheel and you suddenly twist the throttle inadver...

While it might be annoying to have to replace the slides, and remount the doors, why couldn't that be done where the plane is? At least the doors would be possible, and then a ferry flight to maintenance for the slides, if need be.
