Bet you could at 2000ft...can't really tell the difference between 3,000fpm or 6,000fpm. Heck, without looking at the gauges, even I can barely tell the difference

Are you mixing Gimli (Air Canada B767) with Azores(Air Transat A330)?Uuuuhm....... I think we are in agreement that Boeing rules and apparently Tupolev is second, but I'll wait for the ISGPOTM to chime in.Air Transat? Longer runway, admittedly.Try that in Airbus.

Re: Another Crazy Video
England was settled by Saxons . We want it back! Pipe No it wasn't, it was settled by the Celts(aka the Britons), who also settled Brittany and Galicia. The Anglians and Saxons piled in with the Romans but decided to stay longer. The Frisians, Jutes and Norse also traded, settled and conquered ther...

The difference being I confine it to one thread, I dont start 10 different threads 'everytime a QF hostie farts' on two boards. No Marty - The absolute fundamental difference being that you were given power and (ab)used it from a personal perspective and not in moderation. To be honest outside of t...

Unless its aviation related I either moved all his threads here thus filling this board up with it or deleted it all together, I choose to delete it.

Re: The World Cup Thread (someone had to)
Rather than adding stoppage, wouldn't it be better to simply STOP the clock? That is exactly what they do. The official clock being the one on the referees arm. Unlike US sports there is a general approximation between elapsed time and game time, so a rough indication of how long is left after 45 m...

Personally I'm more comfortable in planes where the sky is an exterior feature. The new 'sky interiors' are far superior to the existing interior.

It should do! That'd be a few less warheads out there.Does the NPT allow nuclear weapon state signatories to threaten first strike use on non nuclear countries in order to force compliance to the NPT?Next question?

Giles and I bicker sometimes. I figure it helps the post count. But, if it deters young men from wanting to discuss more than aircraft liveries but less than shaving and sexuality (and do so in a place of safety), I will refrain from said bickering. Speaking of which, how do they get those big, lon...

Why, thank you everyone! Per - I put away the skis years ago, but they gave great warmth in the fireplace. Cindy, thank you, and hugs right back at you! Why are so many of the guys flying regional jets old and bitter at the world? As many as "young" stewardesses flying for American Airlines. If you don't get it, let's just say that lawyers are the only winners in divorce cases. What 0? :D Now Singapore on the other hand.......

Re: ASDE-X problems at Boston Logan
To me that looks bad, and the biggest problem I can see is not that the controller would try and abort because of a ghost return, but more that he would assume that a real return is just another ghost. You are always going to get "ghosts" in that respect the FAA guy is right, but that mean...
