Re: NEAR TOTAL DISASTER sarcasm or customer service?
...a rather novel gauge for drink carts... While I concur with elaw on this being most praiseworthy, I am disturbed by your insistence that the FA keep their eyes inside the cart, versus traditional servership of using your eyes and senses OUTSIDE of the beverage cart to visually track where the dr...

Disconcur.I blame cheap composites.
I blame Spanish Hot Shot Cowboy Flight attendants who cast all semblance of procedure aside to serve drinks using liberal instinct with reckless abandon.

Re: NEAR TOTAL DISASTER sarcasm or customer service?
Um, I think ya might have missed this: ...a soft drink splashed on an electronic device in the main cabin. Perhaps they were concerned about said device shorting out and catching fire? That or maybe it hit one of the electronic boxes that's part of the IFE system, causing said system to fail, and t...

NEAR TOTAL DISASTER sarcasm or customer service?
FA spills soda on passenger. Plane makes unscheduled landing so passenger can change to dry clothes. https://www.yahoo.com/news/m/87dddd6d-1afc-364a-ae84-5fa3d6ed0355/ss_soda-spill-forces-plane-to.html Multi post: Yes Eye-squinting contemplation: Yes Discussion point about consistent good customer s...

Re: Circular runways
Yes I double posted...But, there is double humour. 1) Telling Evan to shut up, that it's already being put into action- too good to pass up. 2) The ironing is too good pass up here. It would appear that Flyover America has the latest greatest circular airport! I actually did witness this this very e...

On a most serious note, I'm trying to figure out how I could get one of these things on MSFS and virtually give it a try.

Re: Circular runways
Interesting thought & interesting read. The deal breaker for me is the need for multiple multiple parallel strips of concrete for simultaneous landings and take offs...seems we need about 5 of them these days and not sure how one big circle helps.... For high traffic areas / simultaneous operati...

Re: Note to AD safety students.
OFF TOPIC!Clearly a result of the Coriolis effect. No, no, it's the Coanda effect. Dammit, it's one of those effects...that's 3 failures on the right side, if you are counting
You need to post this in a new thread entitled Circular Runways.

Note to AD safety students.
Check out the youtube link above at the appropriate time stamp. I am pretty sure we see the failure of a shimmy damper on the right main gear (that's 3 failures on the right side, if you are counting) I see a pattern of weakness from the scientific, hell-better, aeroengineers! Ban all 737s !

Re: 3WE Survives near-total air disaster!!!!!
My recollection (subject to eyewitness imagination) was that the plane was on fire, unstable, rocking from side to side and up and down, the engines were failing and making sputtering sounds and we were all screaming and praying and thinking "oh my God, we are going to die". Fixed . Wrong...

Re: 3WE Survives near-total air disaster!!!!!
Mispost... eventually I'll figure out the difference between the "quote" and "edit" buttons! It sure would be nice to be able to delete this though... LOL...done a few too many myself. The FA's did not just blurt out their analysis in the heat of the moment...can't remember when...

Do the marshal folks on the wings ever "DO" anything?
A classic 3BS question that is hard to put into words. Yeah, I get their purpose and procedures first, but would you tell us how often the contribute something meaningful to a parking or push-back process? They don't seem to be in position to deal with planes taxiing down the alley, nor really even ...

You mean comments like, "Pilot: "Did you see her Mike, the hot one in the Pink Bikini!!" Copilot: "Damn, you're right, she's hot bro!! Let's find her tonight at the hotel!" Pilot: "Hellz Yeah!" Pilot: "Ok, better go around!" Purely speculative and we sho...

St. Maartens Near Total Disaster
Sarcasm in play on the thread title.
Nevertheless, I rank it unusual, interesting and discussion worthy here.

Re: Boeing’s plan for biggest 737 MAX meets with industry doubts
I haven't spent that much time on 767s and didn't consider how little you get for the bigger fat twin-aisle 767.7 is one more than 6
I thought the 767 replaced the L-1011 / DC-10...wrong again.

Re: Boeing’s plan for biggest 737 MAX meets with industry doubts
“The A321 does a nice job but it doesn’t quite meet all the needs we have out of Newark, that being said the 757 didn’t either,” says Levy on the A321LR. What he really is trying to say is they need an aircraft that will fly from 10 to 1000 people any distance from 50 to 10,000 miles without burnin...

Re: File Under "Who Cares?"
Doesn't FedEx® send widebodies to STL? Yes...but the tendency for overnight operations and North-side parking makes them harder to catch and particularly harder to photograph. The AA 767 medical incident truly made the evening news- and in a slightly surprising turn of events, they didn't even take...

Re: Boeing’s plan for biggest 737 MAX meets with industry doubts
This calls for the standard, overly bold statement that Boeing wrongly shut down the 757 line with no apparent consideration and should revive it forthwith.

Re: File Under "Who Cares?"
If we could only convince SWA that our three close parallel runways and empty gates, cheap fuel, geographical centrality, and gentler winters make us THE hub for them instead of DAL and Midway. Note: This would be good for our economy, better to get more places non stop and to utilize our pavement,...

Re: File Under "Who Cares?"
I must confess... if a '380 or screamliner or 767 or even a 300 came to Flyover, there'd be a thread initiated... Wide things are news over there? Yes. One day an ORD to DFW 767 had a medical emergency, diverted and landed. It made the evening news. TWA's latter years gave us occasional 747's, L-10...
