That's OK, sean, so was Gabriel's answer. How he knows that the F28 is a "bad braker" is beyond me.dunno the details more than what was mentioned as a takeoff roll accident. My question was pure parlor talk.

I know there is a joke in here somewhere, but it seems I got nothing. Can you back me up? Maybe a midget joke or something?

Re: Boeing - Fire barrels and pickets. It's strike time.
Greedy... greedy... greedy. Shame on them for asking for more when so many in the manufacturing arena here in the US have nothing. Lets look at what the impact of the machinist strike has had on Boeing so far: In the contract that 80 percent of the machinists voted to reject, Boeing offered an 11 p...

Re: Spanair take-off crash Madrid
We do train stalls in departure, clean and landing configs as well as high-alt stalls ala Pinnacle.I meant to ask if pilots train for a stall during the takeoff roll... am I correct to guess that simulating with a properly configured aircraft would not have helped in this situation?

Re: Spanair take-off crash Madrid
Hey Don & Flyboy: Is there EVER a time to lower the nose? I really don't remember hearing you say that! Nor agreeing that stalling is a crappy way to climb. This has got some scary implications on the 410 Dudes where they didn't drop the nose for fear of loosing alititude and/or because they we...

Forgive me for expecting more from a President. Or even from you, for that matter. In any case, what is wrong with wearing a sweater indoors in the winter ? Most people do it, don't they ?

That's a relief, 'cause you know that what I am or am not taught depends directly on what you do or don't believe.I genuinely belive Flylarva when he says they're vehemently taught not to lower the nose at CRJ driver school.

It's not just you that annoys them, Mel, they don't like anyone.Do IFR Student pilots annoy you all with repeated requests for practice approaches, etc? I sometimes think that Regional Approach gets a little put out with those of us who just want to hone our craft.

Asking people to wear a sweater does not an energy policy make. But you knew that.He also lent his name to energy independence but was totally let down by all his successors in this regard. But you knew all that.

Re: Well it looks like Jr only beat his father
As I said somewhere else, the Bushes should have tried to chose their presidential years better; i.e. give the bad yrs to the democrats like 1991, 2001, and other earlier yrs. :P And when you said it elsewhere it was just as meaningless as it is now. Tell me, charvark do you enjoy posting horsemanu...

Concur. One would have to have some practical knowledge and experience in order to understand that, wouldn't he?Correct. There is nothing wrong with your theory but putting the theory into practice is a different story.

Great ! Maybe Flying Magazine will be worth reading again . Not likely. Not while they continue printing "I'm-happy-as-a-pig-in-shit-without-an-instument-rating" girl's garbage. Yes, 3BS, I know she looks bonkers in shorts. Perhaps, she'd be better off writing for a fashion magazine?

As a pilot, I am neither MD-80 rated, nor profesional, nor experienced. However I think I have a better understanding of aerodynamics and mechanics of flight than many of those who are (I'm sorry if this doesn't sound humble, but that's what I think). Indeed. You've certainly always been quite impr...

Re: Spanair take-off crash Madrid
I think it's a very thorough analysis of my parlor view that one should generally drop the nose a little when you are slow, at nose-high attitudes, not climbing very well and there's a stall warning , versus your training which "vehemently" tells you not to drop the nose, lest you get a b...

In fact, I wonder if by the time he's done writing the post even he has any idea what he was trying to prove.Gabriel's statements are as usual correct however by the time you wade through the post you forgot what he was trying to prove.
