Re: Etihad A340-600 final report out

Hey, a blast from the past. I don't see anything new here but it has been 18 years. Hard to believe!
14 years, but who's counting?

Re: Gabriel's Go-Around Song

ITS wanted to get us all worked up because we saw an MD-11 go around… He probably texted flyboy to be watching for the appearance of his genius airmanship on ad.info. It’s a miracle they didn’t crash, burn, and did died. He hasn't been on More-Death-Eleven since St Barack of Honolulu ruled this rea...

Re: Gabriel's Go-Around Song

Perhaps the reason why they didn't touch harder the first time is because they had already initiated the go around 1 or 2 seconds before touching down.
No. Watch the first touchdown. Really carefully.

Is not true.

Airplane struck by errant meteor. Valliant, skilled Russian crew steer plane away from school yard and nuclear plant. Pilots to receive glorious posthumous award.
Actually, the Captain already had RF's highest award.

Re: 2 dead in Tomahawk crash in Arg

Sorry guys for the long post, but this accident hits close to home in many ways.
That's OK, as is typical with your stuff, I stopped reading after the first line. The closeness of this accident to home is hereby noted.

You are supposed to show a photo of a coke and some pretzel bags, and report any structural cracks or cracking sounds, but I guess we will survive without.
They didn't have any pretzels. And I was chugging Coke Zeros.

Hopefully you informed the FAs that you are type rated & captain in a different Airbus twin, AND almost an (or perhaps a recently ‘certified’) EMT.

Flight reports?
I've been an EMT for 24 years. I am, however, a recently certified (as of this past February) paramedic.

For that matter, you could do a lot worse than to follow the unreliable airspeed drill: fixed throttle setting, fixed pitch attitude you memorized, then you can fairly safely fixate on the artificial horizon for a while
Tell that to Evan.
