Re: Interesting (recent) total air disasters

I was tempted to ask Monchie if he was Boeing Bobby...(of course, is he Boeing Bobby without knowledge of blue font, or with knowledge of blue font?) I don't think Monchie -or anyone Not_closely following our posts- is aware of our " somewhat " frequent use of sarcasm, much less of JPForu...

I like to dedicate my first post after a long brake to all of you who always wait for the final report and don’t pull too relentlessly. Here it is:

Re: Interesting (recent) total air disasters

NK, serious question, do you really believe that reverse thrusters should not be used on aircraft? I don't know that Not_Karl is serious No. My solutions and recommendations to the aeroplanie industry, bold assertions, absolute statemens, questioning of pilot intelligence and FoFfie opinions should...

Interesting (recent) total air disasters

Let L-410 in Russia crashed shortly before landing . Uncommanded pitch reversal of a propeller. ATR-72 in Ghana goes off-roading . Pilot lost control during take-off run after his seat slided . Proposed solutions : Ban thrust reversers ( we should have banned them after Lauda Air ) and sliding seat...

Looking at recent incidents, isn't there a serious risk of another aeroplanie landing on top of yours?

It's also a little surprising/scary that the low-pressure warning didn't come on for 2 minutes even though pressure loss was probably almost instantaneous. My interpretation (might be wrong) is that the bang was a bump in the road that damaged the tyre, which finally burst two minutes later. And th...

I like how the article starts by saying that the woman was kicked-off for breastfeeding, but apparently the problem was Not_what she was doing but when she was doing it. I'm all for breastfeeding and think people "offended" by it should be guillotined, but maybe we should wait for the fina...

Please, carry on and note the OTHER agreement on asking "just what emergencies are emergency brakes intended for".
For parking, like in cars.

Re: Transportation Safety Statistics

"As a train conductor/engineer, you can expect to kill 5 people in the course of a normal career" Is there any reward or recognition if you kill more than 5, or does it only give you bragging rights ? I thought that at some other time, it was more like the grand average was about 1 killed...

Re: Japanese CRM

I would much rather see a multiple step system:

The yoke
The AI
The view of the nose vs the horizon out the window
The ASI
The model badge (to know if we are in a -200 or a -236A).
The cirrcuit breakers.
Fixed.
