No offense taken. In my opinion, I'm only the fifth-funniest person on this site. However, several of the others aren't trying.

What a stupid question. He should really think about more important things, like what kind of seat-back entertainment systems they have.

I didn't realize that Google offered Norwegian translation. Although this is full of typically silly machine translation goofs, I will say that it is one of the best I have seen. Perfectly understandable. http://translate.google.com/translate?prev=hp&hl=en&js=y&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.vg.no%...

Re: Thoughts on arrest of Harvard Prof

I would have tasered the good Harvard prof, but then again, I'd love to taser any Harvard prof for all the shit they've done to this country.
Indeed. They gave us George W. Bush, for example.

Out of curiosity, what hotel? http://www.hiltonwaikoloavillage.com Interesting story, here. Wife and kids really wanted to stay at this hotel (and it is beautiful), but I'm not as much into the resort experience as you don't really get the feel for the local area and it tends to "sanitize"...

Reubee: I don't know how I missed this when you posted it. I have tears in my eyes from laughing. All the verses are hysterical. I especially enjoyed the stanzas about INH and Angelic One, although a couple of the others are brilliant, too. Very, very, very funny and a terrific trip down several yea...

Re: peanut allergy

With all the plants in Hawai'i, I'd be a lot more worried about her, once you get there. That place is allergens galore. Thankfully she doesn't have any allergies to plants, pollen, etc (of which we are aware). Her issues are food-based. Still, we will have to watch out for the ever-present macadam...

We can only assume a previous rider may have had peanut residue on his hands and she got some from touching the restraint bar and then touched her mouth). Silly question, b...

Re: peanut allergy

A recent flight I was on was delayed at the gate because one of the pax had a peanut allergy. According to his wife the seats they were assigned and surrounding rows needed to be cleaned otherwise his allergy could kill him. Now I am well aware that some people are allergic to peanuts such that it ...

a long range flight, the only other realistic options I can think of is having an excruciating 'conversation' with the person next to you who wants to tell you their dull and tedious life story or you're eating peanuts ... in both cases the mountain side would be a welcome escape. I was merely goin...

Re: United IFE?

But if I couldn't and could choose any scenario, I guess a nice CFIT into a mountain would be nice. Whilst reading a book or playing pac-man on your xpod? Are those my only two choices? Because if we're truly being open-ended here I can think of many better things to be doing shortly before my death.

Re: Is the honeymoon over?

Rasmussen's tilt to the right is widely known among those who poll for a living (not me, of course, I just read a lot of 'em). Even if they were closest on one election, does not eliminate the "lean" that is historically in their samples. Of course, it also doesn't mean that they aren't ri...

Re: Is the honeymoon over?

I missed one thing the first time that I reviewed the Rasmussen data. I hadn't noticed the obvious point that this is not a standard approval rating, but rather a cross-tab looking at only Strongly Approve vs. Strongly Disapprove. I don't have much experience examing that kind of data, so I have no ...

Re: United IFE?

Although I would say that should I crash, I'd prefer the Aeroperu experience to the Alaska Air one. While the outcome is undeniably the same, the duration of the terror is not without its advantages. Personally I'd take the Heathrow 777 - Half the passengers didn't know they'd crashed and the bigge...

Re: Is the honeymoon over?

Just a couple of thoughts on this excellent topic that Sabre started. But, before we can discuss it, I'd like to correct two potentially misleading data points from the chart in the original post. First (per Sabre's link) the data point from which the -11 approval rating is pulled is a daily trackin...

Giles, while we're on the subject, please note that contracting the verb "is" should be quite familiar to you from the phrase, "which one's Pink?"
