I also like reading that the DC-9 is quiet...I guess it has half as many awesome noisy engines as a 707 and 33% fewer than a 727...

Sitting towards the FRONT of a DC-9 type aeroplanie does have some quietness to it...

For Fenceperving takeoffs, few modern aeroplanies can beat a DC-9...Still want to go to St. Maarten someday.

Indeed and concur. I stopped fenceperving when Austral retired its MDs :cry: .
