Postby AndyToop » Wed Feb 17, 2010 12:52 pm

Anyone know a reasonably priced reliable car service for a Sunday afternoon transfer?

You're kidding, right?

Why, have you been overcharged or they didn't turn up?
I've never had any issues with their service personally.

Whatever good do you expect them to do Andy when he is at JFK?

Andy can also just tell me when he's coming, so that if I finish a trip at the same time, I can just give him a ride to midtown.

Just a thought.

I'm on VS45 scheduled to arrive JFK 15:05 local on Sunday.
I'll be around for a couple of weeks, so if you (or anyone else for that matter) fancy a refreshing beverage ping me a pm.

If you mean this upcoming Sunday, I should be there. I figure you'll be coming out of arrivals around 1600 or so.

Yep - this Sunday. Never quite sure how long immigration and baggage will take (experience says somewhere between 40 and 140 minutes).
At least I will be at the pointy end of the plane (I think further forward than the pilot on the outbound trip) so hopefully will be the faster end of the distribution curve. 16:00 sounds about right.

Vintage Mercedes transfer with a uniformed driver who met me at the arrivals, escorted me to the staff car park and was great company on the drive in, even stopping on the way to the hotel to get dinner - and all for the price of a Chicken Ceaser Salad and a couple of Iced Teas!

What better way to start a stay in NYC.

Not sure why I just remembered this, but it was my LHD 1979 280E, a very rare US-spec example. Mere months later I will have lost that car to storage fees up in Port Jervis, NY.

Ah....memories...

When you say lost it due to storage fees do you mean had to sell it because of the cost of storage, or worse, lost it due to storage thieves?

Closer to the former. 2010 was an interesting year...
