More JP.net

Postby IntheShade » Tue Nov 02, 2010 12:51 am

I am a fan of Evan.

Not because he knows what he is talking about, but because he doesn't.

Good thing they got rid of all the real pilots to make room for the speculators.

The current photo queue is at 11000+ Kilroy is clearly not doing his job.

Granted , it is a bit of a weird uninspired place but they still have at least one real pilot over there, Wilco737 is a LH Cargo FO on their MD11 IIRC.
Like you, he seems to thoroughly enjoy his office space, a true MD11 fan, he probably can't wait for the new 748 to join LH's fleet so he can have a go at that.

I am pretty certain Evan is Jim Knight aka Karl. Can someone ask if he has ever shoveled snow?

LH will get all passenger versions of the 747-800, no cargo versions. So, unless he changes over to the passenger side of operations he will be left with the MD-11.

IIRC he just finished his run on the MD11 and is getting on to the 744 next, so the 748 might well be on his road.

More Evan:
Is there a lemon law in the aviation world? Because it seems that the A380 is a lemon tree with four ripe pieces of fruit. Anyway, it's too early to talk about compensation. We don't yet know if this has to do with failure to inspect. It will be interesting if the cause turns out to be related to the AD issued earlier and the engine is under 400 cycles, because then RR can claim to have warned the operators and Qantas can claim to have been in compliance with the AD, and the fault rests with the EASA for not mandating the inspections sooner. But maybe it is unrelated...

He may be overall correct about the A380. Maybe not about the "pieces of fruit" part, but in general...

I think what we're seeing is a contrail through a lower atmospheric lens. The further off part of the contrail being magnified to appear closer than it is. Like a telephoto lens. Search wikipedia for "atmospheric duct".
