Are you calling the mighty IBM 5151 a "wussy monitor"? Maybe you are still using the front panel LEDs of your Altair 8800 and are a bit jealous?

Important note to anyone using such a device: before setting it down on the carpet to fool around with it, check to make sure nobody has previously dropped a paper clip on said bit of carpet, which being conductive and all, will bring your computer to an untimely end.

You and/or Gabbie pointed out that it means more "In the Shadow" and I get the subtleties of those two in Ingles; however, Mexican folks have their Sombrero hats (which provide both shade AND cast a shadow).

My comment was part me being a smartasshat, part genuine question of the differences between shadow and shade, which I didn't fully understand (I thought that maybe "shade" was "penumbra"*).
I now have googled and found a relative of Per with the same doubt.
What Per's friend says applies also to Spanish: We use "sombra" for both shade and shadow.

(*Penumbra is a light shade. Gloom, according to Google).

Update:
Now I'm playing with Li-ion batteries. Disassembled three -one of them fully charged- with sharp, pointy metal objects and brute force. Installed one of said batteries in a headlight that wiill be in contact with my forehead. Installed another in my multimeter, directly over the circuit board, surrounded by the thermistor, the wimpy glass fuse and the ammeter shunt. The day I measure mains voltage in the Ohm range or the power consumption of my house by sticking the leads to a power socket -using the unfused 20A range, of course- might be spectacularly unforgettable.

Oh, and I'm now recharging some overdischarged cells. If I stop posting again, check the Darwin Awards recipients.

...just a little too distracting (not that the gravel pile from several months ago was LESS distracting (but not to Brian)). And I genuinely meant it regarding a slightly higher perspective (although you'd loose some of that great under-wing view).

The photographer should spray the weeds with a toxic agrochemical!

But DO CONCUR with ATLCrew2548m. I like the VintagePropPhoto and the weeds add to the atmosphere of it. I think that your hate for plants, birds and the environment in general is affecting your judgement.

On the other hand, regarding our Not_happy friend and his rejected-due-to-similar-image-in-the-database JetPhoto, I fully agree with the screeners. It is similar, doesn't add anything new and is Not_particularly spectacular.

Conversely, I note that our not_accepted DC-weedy-3 photographer told ATL crewie: "Indeed."
