Re: F.A.O.: Flyboy
I don't detect much crassness on ATL's part, at least not yet. When did Boeing Bobby ever have a sense of humor? Did you know he's been flying for 45 years (a number that has remained constant for the past 4 years, you'd think it would have increased to 49 years by now) and is presently a 747 Captain?

Yes, 45 + 4 = 49...but, folks there tend to defy logic...

He's a particularly interesting one. Back when I was considering applying to Atlas, I asked him some questions. His answers were...unconvincing.

Still, him and Myndee going at it provided a nice break from number crunching and paper pushing.

Senility (and grumbly old-fartedness) is real, and I speculate that they don't have a good way to evaluate either on a First Class Medical....he's been flying for 45 years (a number that has remained constant for the past 4 years, you'd think it would have increased to 49 years by now) and is presently a 747 Captain?...His answers were...unconvincing...

While it is tempting to identify myself as a private pilot with extensive MSFS experience, and that I would indeed be happy to assist the crew in the event of any survivable incident, I think I shall continue to refrain as I customarily do....during boarding I had identified myself as a paramedic and that I was happy to assist the crew in the event of any medical incident.

If he what he has written in regards to his girth is true, he'd be all but useless in an onboard medical emergency, especially if he was trapped behind someone's reclined seat whilst said emergency transpired.

Apologies...just want to record this wonderful utterance for posteriorhattery (and trying hard not to bust out laughing).
And...Now....stop being a smartarse twat !...
.I think the next Air Force One should be a B-777, because it's newer and FBW, so everyone else must think so too.

Re: F.A.O.: Flyboy
I'm actually starting to feel sorry for Brian. He reminds me of every lardass that sits in every dive bar in America, wearing a cammo jacket and a military hat, chugging down PBR tallboys, droning on and on about the his glory days with the CIANAVYSealsMarineSpecialforcesArmyRangers and how he used to kill men with one finger. Everybody humors him and listens even though everybody knows he's either never been in the military at all or at most was a culinary specialist.
It's both comical and very sad at the same time.

Should BoeingieBobbye be on the next cover of "CRM Today"?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------i for one don't believe he is a crew member, unless we
are talking about ramp personnel.......

It's been my experience that the ATL crew dude is a tad snarky at times, but more importantly, incredibly accurate and correct- but hell, who knows?
We bring up the topic of CRM and he "get's his dander (even more) up".Should BoeingieBobbye be on the next cover of "CRM Today"?
It would seem he does not comprehend the ironing.

I'm afraid it might be even worse than that. Remember when I said some of his answers to my questions were unconvincing? I couldn't help but notice this little tidbit:We bring up the topic of CRM and he "get's his dander (even more) up".Should BoeingieBobbye be on the next cover of "CRM Today"?

Two slight problems. Firstly, Atlas hasn't had 742s in years (but I'll let that one slide since he didn't specify WHEN that supposedly happened). Secondly, Katmandu is a special qualification airport (like Tegucigalpa or Bogota) whereby if you've "never been there in your life" (or even if you spent the last thirty years going in and out of there four times daily, but haven't yet been there with Atlas), you can't go there without undergoing some training and your first trip in and out of there has to be with a Check Airman. So, they couldn't just "give him a flight plan" and send him there. You ever fly your MS flight sim into Katmandu? I was given a flight plan and sent there in a 747-200 having never been there in my life.
But, as Kermit would say, that's none of my business...

I like how ATLCrew has largely stepped back from the thread and is likely enjoying the mudslinging from the comfort of some hotel room somewhere (not NRT, of course, but still...)

Re: F.A.O.: Flyboy
I will be MD-80ing and 757-xxxing through ATL tomorrow AM and will watch for A320+/- pilots who are depressed since they have no idea what it's like to maneuver a million ton freighter. I hope I don't get whooped or visit the police station if I recline into a fat, old paramedic.I like how ATLCrew has largely stepped back from the thread and is likely enjoying the mudslinging from the comfort of some hotel room somewhere (not NRT, of course, but still...)
I guess I will have to respect the pilots if they are old.

Actually, BB sounds a little like a guy who posts under the name Preacher1 on this thread:

He claimed to supposedly have done "fill-in" flying for four different airlines. All as Captain, of course.

My ignorant, ass-hat self had always wondered about BB's aversion to go arounds, some cluelessness that sometimes lesser pilots enter thunderstorms, and not being familiar with the acronym TOD (which was used from time to time in the obscure magazine that I read as I only dream.)

Re: F.A.O.: Flyboy
Very possible. There are quite a few things about the post-ad.com era that have me puzzled, chief among them the idea that so many people who were so very active seem to have up and disappeared. I find that hard to believe.

Still here. I've been "ejected" (with Charles, same topic was the reason of the violent and permanent jettison) from Ad.Com but hey, no regrets. I certainly miss some members who DID follow us here but then... poof!
