Squid Annual round up 2016

Postby Sickbag » Sat Dec 17, 2016 12:05 pm

And what a year for squid its been!
First up : Squid set to topple fish in that great British delicacy Squid 'n'Chips

https://www.theguardian.com/environment ... -and-chips
It is the meal most associated with the UK, along with slurping tea and moaning about the weather. But the great British fish supper could be on the way out, replaced by more continental variations such as squid and chips, as seas continue to warm, the British Ecological Society will be told this week.
There will be revolution on the streets of Skegness, mark my words...

Argentina will start the squid harvest early.

The early start of the season was backed by scientific findings on the squid population.
As long as you don't harvest those South Atlantic Squid who voted in a democratic referendum to remain British Squid thats fine ....

Putins plans to weaponise Squid continue:

Nice effort Mr P but I think we all know who's pulling your tentacles...

Which leads me onto the movie Arrival.
For how long have I being tell everyone here that Squid are in fact descendants of a highly advanced race of Space Squid who are biding their time to take over as the most dominant life form on the planet. This movie basically confirms it. Add it to the fact that Trump will now be POTUS I think we can look at 2017 as the year of Squid Singularity

Let's all enjoy this Christmas, we don't know who or what might be coming down the chimney next year....

Thank you SIckbag!

I read the media report about squid "displacing" cod on the nation's menus and I guffawed - someone is trying to troll the right wing press. (I love squid, prepared one just last week, it had eaten a tiny anchovy or whitebait before being killed, the fish was still in the stomach of the squid)....
