THERE HAS BEEN A NEAR-TOTAL NOTRE DAME DISASTER!!!!!

Postby 3WE » Mon Apr 15, 2019 10:16 pm

Newsworthy, at least.

I suppose a bird could have whacked a smoke detector and made it give the indication that there absolutely is no fire whatsoever and that the heat should be switched to high.

I was surprised to hear a French official (I'll see if I can find who) state that they have "ruled out arson" WHILE THE FIRE WAS STILL ACTIVE! Heck, an arson investigation can take weeks sometimes, how in the blazes (pun fully intended) did they rule it out so early?

It sounds like there were a lot of people in the cathedral when the fire started... maybe they have a witness? Saw a candle get knocked over or something like that?

Ironingly, I recall visiting a "High Episcopal" church (they imitate Catholics a lot).

The placed was packed and I couldn't see everything, but I found it very disturbing that the place was filling up with smoke, and NO ONE seemed to give a crap...

After 5 tense minutes, I realized it was the ritualistic incense deal to drive off evil sprits. (Most Episcopalians don't quite go to THAT length, but apparently it's "allowed")

In THIS case, the incense bearer dude didn't drop anything on the floor, but I would say that he must have had a pretty good set of coals going and that it might be wise to keep it away from flammable items...

/parlour speculation.

I see lots of HEADLINES suggesting a cause, but then the articles say almost nothing.

Massive PC media cover up?

I read something of construction work so soldering torches or extension cord shorts or saw/drill friction with wood, many other potential sources of ignition...

Maybe they want us to wait for the final report.

2 years flew hopefully without wings or MCAS by and we're still reading speculative articles and waiting for the final report :( .
