L.D.U. Quito vs America
What a match... La Liga represented Ecuador in top form and fashion and despite the dirty dirty play from the Mexican team America we managed to hold on and tie... Next tuesday you'll be seeing me on Fox Sport (in Latin America) as we take on America at home.

No, not really, not when Euro 2008 is just around the corner. Besides, if I want to see a bunch of busboys play soccer, I can just go to any local field, no need to follow any Copa of anything.Anyone else here following Copa de Libertadores?

Just a little for you to investigate (don't think you do that much, FB):No, not really, not when Euro 2008 is just around the corner. Besides, if I want to see a bunch of busboys play soccer, I can just go to any local field, no need to follow any Copa of anything.Anyone else here following Copa de Libertadores?
Before FIFA established the World Clubs Championship (between teams), there was a classic match between the champion of Europe and the champion of South America (Mexico did not compete for the Libertadores Cup during that time).
Do you know the statistics of how many of those matches went for South America and how many for Europe? Check it before trying to minimize the oldest Club Cup in the world.
Like the World Cup, Europe is no match to America (how many European teams have won a championship outside Europe?)
And, for Supersean:
Remember the color of the glass you are looking through: Even when I hate that "America" team, I don't think you are right in your appreciation. And LDU just came to performance a "chapucero" game: faking injuries, wasting playing time, etc., etc. And the referee helped them in doing so.
Just another cast away from AD.com that reached AD.info island.

Re: L.D.U. Quito vs America
Well, gee, Peminu, I don't know (actually, yes, I do), how many South American teams have won a championship outside of America? Hint: only one. (twice, in 1958 and 2002, the latter in Asia). Granted, that's one more than European teams winning outside of Europe, but that's hardly a compelling argument.Like the World Cup, Europe is no match to America (how many European teams have won a championship outside Europe?)

Well I think its time to roll off your sister there hillbilly and get in tune with what really is going on in the world of football or futbol (only schmucks call it soccer). Most of the European teams have their rosters loaded with players from South America and if if was not for the "busboys" a majority of the Euro league teams would flat out suck. No, not really, not when Euro 2008 is just around the corner. Argentina, Ecuador, Mexico and Brasil all have the squads to go toe to toe against any of the national teams in the EuroZone buddy.... you need to stop reading the wikis to learn about the soccer

And you would do well to get off the Ecuadorean hash you've been smoking and look at reality. You may have a point about Brasil, although if their performance on the 2006 World Cup is any indication, they're in for another 1970-1994-type slump. Argentina hasn't done much of anything since 1990 and, save for them being blessed with another Maradona (not likely), won't be doing much anytime soon. Mexico couldn't get anywhere even when the World Cup was held in Mexico (this despite having Ugo Sanchez) and Ecuador - you're kidding, right?Argentina, Ecuador, Mexico and Brasil all have the squads to go toe to toe against any of the national teams in the EuroZone buddy.... you need to stop reading the wikis to learn about the soccer
There is also the stubborn little fact that only three American teams have ever won the World Cup, those being Brasil, Argentina (not since 1986) and Uruguay (not since 1950!). Compare that with four European ones, although it' been quite a while for England, but still...So, your toe-to-toe argument is even shakier than your aviation knowledge.

Listen dipshit you obviously do not know much about "the soccer" you are forgetting that a majority of the export players in the international futbol arena come from Latin America. Most of the clubs in the Copa could play with and beat a majority of the clubs in the Euro League. How many champion teams in Europe are without a Latin America "superstar".... You use the google to come up with your snazzy stats but your futbol knowledge is at the same level as your comprehension of even the most basic of physics concepts... Re: L.D.U. Quito vs America
Actually the refs were in Americas pocket.. TWICE during the match an America player kicked or hit a Liga player without punishment. The match here in Quito was even more so in Americas favor and you should have seen the Americas players go loco after losing one got a nice headlock escort to the showers for fighting with the GOE

Pay attention ASSWAD I created this thread about regional teams which you then went on your tangent and insulted. Well, 2010 isn't that far off, so I guess we'll see who's competitive and who's not. BTW, sean, just because Ecuadorian women are giving you thundering orgasms, doesn't mean Latin America is the be-all and end-all. Well meatheads and followers of the FIFA my Liga managed to backslap Fluminense in the first leg of the Copa finals with a 4-2 win at home. But we all know that our "soccer" expert flybutt12345 thinks that latin players are only good as busbuys. BTW what jersey do you support?

IOW, a bunch of busboys beat another bunch of busboys. And in supersean's world that somehow means they're not just busboys. Of cause, apart from the Euro always the highest rated Cup in soccer, and with reason.Prob here is that you can see the matches only when paying (which I wonbt except in a stadium) and so I have to live from 15 min summaries on EuroSport et al.Anyone else here following Copa de Libertadores?
