RJ Captain salary

Postby Putt4Par » Tue Mar 02, 2010 5:36 pm

I was watching the Bachelor's finale with my better half last night. The guy is a captain for ASA (I think he's 31 years old) and it got me wonderin'...how much does your typical CRJ captain make? I know, I know, less than me. But seriously, what is the pay range?

Good link. Thanks.

In average, how many hours a month do you (or an average pilot) fly per month? About 70-80? Also, how far in advance do you bid for your monthly trips?

Thanks for the answers.

70-90 is more like it. Bid procedures vary greatly.

I don't respect people based on how much money they make (or don't make), but nice try, Marty.

Clearly you do, you try to have a go at me because I walk out aircraft as part of my role, lets be honest here Ike without me you go nowhere, you tried to compare my role to something that a wendys employee is capable of doing.

No matter where or how far you go in this world always show respect to everyone whether they are lower or higher than you, because its quite often the people that are lower than you that can help you the most.

Im lucky I have a great example from yesterday, I was walking out an aircraft and noticed something in one of the nose gear tyres, I asked the driver to stop the pushback at the tow bar disconnect point I contacted the cockpit to inform the captain he had a nail in his nose gear tyre, a engineer was sent out to the aircraft and because was concerned if he removed it the tyre would go flat so the aircraft was pulled back into the bay, fortunately the nail was not long enough to puncture the tyre, the issues was noted in the aircraft log book and aircraft was pushed back out again and departed, the captain was very grateful for my attention to detail I will no doubt get a good letter in the next week or so.

That is how you gain respect.

And let's be even more honest in that without me there is no point in your existence, so you can go ahead and take a nosedive off that sanctimonious high horse.

I disagree. Respect must be earned. Also, let me be clear: I have none for you not because you're a ramprat, but because you're a piece of shit. Even if you were a 777 Captain, you'd still be a piece of shit and I'd still have no respect for you.

You just highlighted them yourself, thank you, and thank you also on behalf of your nonexistent creditors for not owing them money. I'm sure neighborhood dogs are also grateful to you for just being you.

Oh, and for the record, you do make inappropriate comments on Facebook with some regularity, which is particularly deplorable since you do it on other people's walls. That makes you not only a piece of shit, but a coward as well.

It takes more than you got or ever will have to bring me back "a peg or two". Here's a thought, Marty: how about you mind your own pegs? And how is telling me what is or isn't beyond my depth from another person's wall appropriate? You only do it, because you know I won't sink to your asswipe level and do the same, which makes you, again, a piece of shit.

Gosh, Marty, if I were you I'd be nice and quiet about "being discussed quite a lot". It seems your "merits" get discussed publicly.

I just think it's hilarious Marty is both doing and posting exactly what Wonnzie was circa 2002. Big time deja vu.

Tell me something, Marty, when you look at those wands and realize that's as far as you're going in aviation, how does that make you feel? I know you don't have the guts to eat a Glock, so do you think sleeping pills? Rat poison, maybe?

I find that quite unbelievable because YOU are the only one that is upset that I am a moderator, your the only one that bleats on about it.

As for my role in aviation, like anything in this world, you put your mind to it you can go as far as you want, I may not be in the cockpit of an aircraft but it wont ever mean I dont enjoy what Im doing. To be perfectly honest I love my role and considering I had never set foot inside and airport four years ago I have come fair way.

Wrong. Your ineptitude as a moderator is, to use your words, "well-known and discussed quite a bit".

Wow, Marty, you made it from the airport gate to waving wands in four years! Way to go, little pal, how big a gold star do you expect?

Whatever gets you through those dark, Australian nights, I guess.
