How to report runway braking action.

Please tell us how and when changes occurred.

Background (3BS listening to ATC)

Olden days: Something like “Good, Fair, Poor, Nill”

Roughly in the last year: “5, 5, 5” (A ranking for touchdown zone, roll out and turn off”.

Within the last month: “Good, fair, poor”
Commercial Pilot, Vandelay Industries, Inc., Plant Nutrient Division.

I believe that the adjectives are subjective PIREPs while the numbers are actual measurements by the airport.
