Valuable info on VAG lubrication, chaps, but is this really the place?
Seeing as the title is a little vague I think the subject deserves a little leeway.
However should you feel that it needs a seperate thread then by all means.

WD40
That is it if you need penetration and have no brass or bronce fittings (I tried it once on my trusty Seagull and got the appropriate punishment for not reading the do.nots...!)

On the other stuff I can hardly comment, as I dont know whether I tried them, in the end it was always the above mentioned WD40...

Sincere condolences to all Norwegians! I guess you will need some aquevit to get over this.

Ouch, I really *love quoting myself*...

Sorry, had not seen this one had already been answered. I guess I will never learn to read through the full thread before hitting "Reply" or "Quote"... happens to me once every week...

PB Blaster update: For many years now, every summer when I've turned on the house air conditioner the first time, it hasn't cooled properly. The problem has always been the fan motor seized up. Ever since the first time, I noticed a little rust on the fan shaft right at the housing, a shot of WD-40 has freed it right up. Kind of a pain though, because I have to partially remove the fan to access the area. Well, three seasons ago I sprayed it with PB Blaster and it has fired right up without maintenance ever since.
you still have to find a crew willing to fly this "barely airworthy" heap
no such thing as "barely airworthy" it's either Airworthy or Not
100% incorrect Ever hear of Ferry Permit? issued for Non airworthy aircraft

Make sure you clean the condensor and evaporater not forgetting any filters as well.
Good airflow is also paramount for an a/c unit.
