Maintenance Question for a Maintenance "Guru"

Postby IntheShade » Tue Mar 04, 2008 12:24 am

Robert--since you are now the aviation maintenance "guru" I would like your opinion.

I set the tension on my flying/landing wires for the Great Lakes 2T-1A-1 using the clamp type tension-o-meter but when we set them on my friends Great Lakes we used the newer type Torque wrench tension-o-meter.

Of the two I prefer the clamp type tension-o-meter but I would like to have your insight into which is the better system.

Charles, I was brought up to use the clamp type and being old fashioned I'm sure that will give you a clue.
