Tried to see Sully speak at the Museum of Flight in Seattle a few weeks ago. Standing room only and weren't letting anyone else in in accordance with fire code. It was amazing.

Miracle on the Hudson' Jet Destined for NC Museum
Article has several photographs of the aircraft currently in storage.
The plane's interior is largely undisturbed from the Jan. 15, 2009, landing but is littered with reminders — and a coating of dried mud. A stethoscope from a first-aid kit lies on the floor in one row, while unused life jackets still wrapped in plastic sit on seats. Many seat cushions are gone, grabbed by passengers as they exited onto a wing. In the rear galley, food and beverages are waiting to be served.
The world will be able to relive the triumph of what has been dubbed "The Miracle on the Hudson" when the Airbus A320 is shipped this spring from a northern New Jersey warehouse to Charlotte, N.C., for an exhibit at the Carolinas Aviation Museum.

I'll just pass on that meal, thank you.

I still marvel at Captain Sullenberger's skill and resolve. And that of his co-pilot. BrgdZ

Good to see the US getting hysterical over some shitty beat up Airbus.

Maybe you can wave palm fronds at the aircraft as it rides into town on a donkey.

Thank you Marc.

This board is getting bad- no one else is going to continue on the obvious Biblical humor theme?

-The plane walked on water...

-And, an Airbus crucified by a Pompous Pilot- is a huge, begging reference to ITS, where I'm sure someone could come up with a humorous Bibical link there.

Why suddenly bring fiction into the picture when the rest of the thread is built on facts?

Extremely impressive. All it needs is a barrelling score underneath it... my palms were sweaty and my heartrate upped watching it even though I knew the outcome. The familiarity of the place (I lived in Jackson Heights which is under the flightpath...) just makes it worse (better?)... chilling!

Did anyone else see the ironing in the comment from the photographer: " . . .shot these clips from a cheap compact Canon camera."

Five years later, the Miracle on the Hudson still awes aviation

Excerpt
Just minutes after US Airways Flight 1549 left LaGuardia Airport in Queens five years ago, a flock of geese invaded the craft’s engines, forcing the plane into a watery emergency landing that became known as the Miracle on the Hudson and helped define a modern version of heroism.

The scene of passengers standing on the wings of the airplane, floating in the cold waters of the Hudson River, waiting for rescue, became the image of a miracle and turned the crew, and especially Capt. Chesley Sullenberger III, into heroes. The water landing, the survival of all parties and Sullenberger’s modesty all conspired to make the man known as "Sully" a household name.

“We were all of a sudden confronted with an ultimate challenge of a lifetime -- one we never trained for,” Sullenberger said Wednesday on “CBS This Morning.” He, other crew members, passengers and rescuers were to participate in a ceremony in New York to commemorate the events of Jan. 15, 2009.

8 years, now.

But after all the jokes, here's a semi serious news story:
