Not a new event. I'm trying to bring back some aviation-related subjects that trigged some discussion at AD.com and where not closed. I'm afraid I don't remember all the details so everybody is encouraged to participate and fill-in the blanks. Here's the first one:
A CRJ or ERJ touched down gear-up, but the crew aborted the landing, circled, lowered the gear and landed without further event.
The crew claimed that they did lowered the gear and that they did checked that the gear was down (green lights).
At that time I calimed that the gear indication lights were fail-safe on the "down and locked" indication. That a failed switch or burnt light could cause a false "not down and locked" indication (lack of green light) in one of the gears, but that there was no reasonable way to get three green lights when none of the three legs was down and locked.
However, the initial investigation by the NTSB said that that it looked like that was exactly what had happened, and that the system was being inspected by the manufacturer (Goodrich or Parker, can't remember).
I'm expecting more news on this becasue I'm very curious to learn ho it is possible to have three green light and no leg down and locked, a thing that, before this incident, I thought as imposible as it gets.

Re: Reginal jet lands gear up
I remember this topic from the old forum. I think it was a Delta CRJ? It was on a certain series, and only those ones would have that certain failure. I wonder if anyone can find the old post somewhere?

I also (think I) remember something about it was possible to get the three greens and an eicas message (gear indication mismatch or something like that).
Re: Reginal jet lands gear up
Think you mean this one Gabriel ?
There was a photo of it actually happening on Airliners.net with sparks flying, but damned if I can find it now

close the eicas message was "landing gear lever disagree"I also (think I) remember something about it was possible to get the three greens and an eicas message (gear indication mismatch or something like that).

Now, the ASN reoports say that they managed to mechanically lower the landing gear after the go-arround. That sounds like that they lowered via an alternate method. I seem to remember that they lowered it with the "normal" landing gear lever.
I can't find the link to the NTSB preliminary report.
EDIT: Here is the NTSB's preliminary report, but it is the same than the ASN (one of them copy-pasted it from the other's)

EDIT II: Too late!

But there's nothing more than what's in the ASN snippet.
