Ok, take this with a big grain of sarcasam- even though it's true.
When playing flight sim, when I'm going somewhere, it is very tempting to hit the autopilot "immediately" after takeoff to not have to worry about headings and initial altitudes while you deal with departure handoffs, checking in with operations.
I dunno- takeoff and climb out doesn't seem like that great of a skill, nor nearly as much fun as landing...of course, I guess a few minutes hands-on gives you some nice feedback on how the plane is working in general...
Just sayin' that it's kind of interesting that I developed this bad habit- even on Fakesim.

Re: Autopilot immediately after liftoff
Having a Flyboy sitting in the right seat to handle the radios is probably helpful. When I'm in the lab I usually hand-fly (with FD) because it makes my job more fun but if I need to set up conditions or something then I'll click on the AFF for a while. Of course I'm not worried about ATC or passenger comfort, but crashing the sim can screw things up and make you rework some stuff.

Not sure if it models the deteriation in flight control, but certainly the ice warning comes on in icing conditions and the AoA protection kicks in.
