...there's some indications of course and altitude changes being made for weather.

My mistake. As of now no wreckage has been found. I blame our (AUS) woeful news services.

Sorry I have been out this long.

But now is time to be sorrow for the posible victims , families and friends.

Being cruel, in this website, it is time for especulation!

No active volcanos, weather bad, A320 (just a Little joystick to control it if you manage to shut down the computer), apparently no Mayday message.

That leave us to a few possibilities:

1) Explosion

2) Suicide mission by a pilot or somebody inside the aircraft.

3) Catastrophic break of the airplane due to weather.

4) They have landed on Gilligan's Island.

????
Just another cast away from AD.com that reached AD.info island.

It's reported that their initial request for what likely was a weather deviation was denied.

And I guess daylight is fading on the first full day of searching with no sightings.

BBC indicating 40 bodies now recovered. Twitter awash with photographs of debris from the Indonesian reportage.
This is an interesting one.

In more recent news we have:

-Indications of very slow speeds just before the loss of radar contact.
-Discovery of the tail.

- tail section recovered
- fuselage "spotted" on sonar

FDR and CVR apparently not in the tail (?!) although I think it's too early to make that statement yet.

Just checked another report. Piece of tail is v-stab and that's about it. Not connected to rest of tail section.

Wholly unconvinced, however "authorities" are reporting that they have located the FDR/CVR.

1/20/2015...

A "higher than normal climb...6000 fpm" according to some sources...Yeah, that's quite a climb rate, but conversely, I think it's within the realm of a 'harmless good pull up at cruise speeds' + an updraft.

...

"And then a stall."

I really wish the "S" word wasn't part of this...it generates too much parlour talk (yeah, I need to get out a mirror).

Interesting photograph of the "balloons" they are intending to use to raise the "main section of fuselage"

New attempt to lift AirAsia Flight QZ8501 fuselage fails after rope snaps

Jakarta, Indonesia (CNN)
A new attempt to lift the submerged fuselage of AirAsia Flight QZ8501 failed Sunday when a wire rope snapped after the wreckage reached the surface of the water, Indonesian officials said.
(...)
A previous effort to the raise the wreckage on Saturday was also foiled when sharp parts of the debris sliced through a strap connecting the fuselage to a giant balloon, the search agency said.

Officials are trying to float the 13-meter (43-foot) piece of wreckage to the surface and then hoist it onto a waiting ship.

But strong winds, high waves and heavy rain prevented the Indonesian Navy divers from having another go Sunday at raising the fuselage, officials said.
(...)
Efforts in previous days by divers to examine and get inside the fuselage as it lay on the seafloor were hindered by strong currents and bad visibility.

Remarkable incompetence. We've never allowed our equipment to be hauled our stern rollers, although we've had frequent inquiries.
