Astonishing pictures show Boeing 747 engine lying in a field

Postby J » Fri Oct 16, 2015 1:22 pm

. . . after it FELL OFF when the aircraft took to the air with 300 terrified passengers on board

One would think this was another AA 191 accident from the hysterical headline but it appears the old Boeing burped the high pressure section. I understand Iran is looking forward to being able to buy new aircraft with the lifting of the sanctions.

Ah, a little duct tape and that thing will be as good as new!

Or at least as good as it was the day the accident happened.

Were they terrified even before the accident?

If they read this forum, yes.

Actually I wondered the same thing. They (once it happened) probably knew *something* was wrong, but the portion of the engine that decided to walk is located under the wing, where few of the pax would be able to see much if any of it.
