An unstable approach to politics...

Postby 3WE » Fri Oct 28, 2016 2:12 pm

I heard a comment that it was generating a lot of free press, and may have been deliberate.

From the semi-serious side, I guess ATC was telling the pilots to slow down... ...seems like a pretty serious example of red-hot-unstabilized approach and clear violation of Evan's (and the industry's) criteria.

[And there is plenty of fodder for the ironing in all of this- that I alluded to there]

Update:

Based upon:

-Data from short final cited there from Av-Herald.

-And the media's extreme ability to take a slow down 'command' and infer 'because you are going too fast to land safely'.

I wish to update this thread that an unstable approach is perhaps unlikely to be a significant contributing factor here.

Still, the ironing is thick, some light bulbs may have been broken (or not) and I would hope this forum would have a few snarky bits of insight.
