RIP Princess Leia (The actress, not_the forumite)

Thanks to really basic Red Cross First Aid training, I kind of knew this was how it would end. :(

Success in a significant heart attack requires quick application of CPR, use of an AED and quick transport to the hospital.

The comments 'stopped breathing', 'aggressive treatment,' 'on a ventilator', 'in critical condition' and thinking of how long it actually takes to land a plane and off-load a passenger...When it works, you wake up, go to the hospital and get stints/by-passes and all sorts of things...you don't get placed on a ventilator.

And, I doubt it that the presence of Brianie or Flyboy would have made a difference, I think FA's have decent first aid training, AED's and handy-dandy O2 bottles. I also read that the stress of being on an airliner, potentially dehydrated, sleep deprived, significantly sedentary and in reduced 02 conditions can stimulate this sort of thing. And for bigger heart attacks...doesn't really matter.

The below meme very nearly got me unfriended by a guy I've known for 35 years.

I'll just leave it here. Frankly, I think it's hilarious.

Her mother, the actress Debbie Reynolds (Singing in the Rain), also died yesterday...

I would have preferred a carrie-on luggage joke ;) .

...darn, I wanted to stay out of this.

I find lots of irony, as I'm sure the passengers had to wait for the paramedics (of all people) to deal with their carrion.

A brilliant, if incorrect, inference.

Of course, Sickbag. That's not the reason why he did vote for Trump.
