Looks like an Air Asia A330 tossed a turbine blade in its number 1 engine after taking off from Perth to Kuala Lampur. The crew diverted back to Perth with the wind-milling engine shaking all the while.
An investigation is underway after a passenger plane started violently shaking in mid-air. A suspected engine failure is to blame.
Passengers on the Air Asia X flight from western Australia to Malaysia report it was like being inside a washing machine, with violent vibrations shaking the cabin for nearly two hours.
The plane safely returned to Perth after the continuous shaking began, reports CBS News correspondent Kris Van Cleave.
Video from inside Air-Asia X Flight D7237 shows the Airbus A330 rattling through the sky, shaking the nerves of the 359 people on board. One passenger posted on Instagram, "I thought I might die."

Do we go straight for the gutter and ask about the X-rated effect on nair-use regions?

Daughter of 3BS- Blown tire/abort/equipment... (Of course, the 3BS family of incidents are ALL on that discount, maintenance-cutting airline that may be on Evanie's no-fly list.)

Re: A 330 Shaking Like Washing Machine
I had a lightning strike once... or I think I did. Flying out of YWG in July, from the crappy tiny windows in the departure lounge they had at the time we could see a thunderstorm coming, the way you can on the Plains. We departed barely ahead of it and most of the flight (south-southeast to ORD) was in and along the leading edge of the system in moderate to occasionally light turbulence. I was looking out the window watching the wing bouncing up and down... and at one point I saw an orangish flash along the fuselage and heard a thump. I concluded it must have been lightning, and probably it was (couldn't have been much of anything else, was well in front of the engines as the plane was a 727) but in retrospect I kind of wonder. The color temperature of lightning is not ordinarily orangish.
