and take one of the above to go to a Malaysian rig drilling in the gulf of Thailand.

If you think you will have a mental problem of reviewing the many ways the scientifically-engineered, robust, backup-laden flying machine might go awry, I have found that adult beverages can be effective.

Also, try to keep your personal effects (and/or appendages) from getting hung up in the controls.

Local media reported yesterday (before the bag theory) that "one of the engines" had apparently failed. Of course, my first reaction was "that can't be the cause, the civilian Eurotrashcopter AS350 surely has a lot more engines". After checking Wikipedia, the wise words of Evanie came to my mind. BAN ALL CIVILIAN SINGLE ENGINED HELL-ICOPTERS! (and passengers carrying bags).

Maybe I should have worded my post better: my (fake) evaniesque thoughts were when the incident was still apparently due to engine failure (and before going there and seeing that Evanie is still opposed to single engined civilian airbeaters). That said, a 4-engine heicopter should obviously have four separate fuel cutoff switches .

Indeed. Now loosing the right 2 ones exactly at the same time and having them share off in a benign way can be survivable in a 6-blade config.

No, you can't. Shake a lot is the understatement of the week.
At the RPM needed for the rotor to be effective and avoid blade stall, and with the wight of each of these blades, the helicopter will simply self-disassemble at once, and you know about synergy, all the parts that make up the helicopter is NOT the helicopter. You cannot autorotate a bunch of loose parts falling from the sky.
