1. So, we have crashed a Regional E-170.
2. We do not crash RJ's very often.
3. And apparently we didn't kill anyone (also consistent with the amazing RJ record).
4. I blame Embraer.
Tomfoolery aside- comments 2 and 3 (and 1) are mostly serious.

Veered off -and overran- runway. N_K's professional, expert, credential certified, insider theory: RTO after a couple of Vs, but before 3VBS, with antiskid-less autobraking pumping 3000PSI to the brakes. There, I'm confident I solved it. But, of course, meteorite, missile, cowboyism and inexperienced PICs with less than 10K hours should Not_be discarded yet.

As noted by Not_Karl, this is the second recent incident of pilots using V-3bs to abort, run off the end, break the airplane but not_kill anyone.
I glad to see that pilots are starting to use V-3bs and that it is saving lives.
Next up: phugoid training for all.

To paraphrase a person who claims to be an eyewitness
"the plane was taking off in high wind... the plane was pushed to the ground, the engines struck the runway, both engines "fell off", the plane then crashed"

Shall we close this out- Monchie's description + the storm and good ole wind shear seems likely...
Or do we need to use Occam's razor since getting smacked by a meteor is a very simple mechanism?

Or do we need to wait for the final report?
Why did you discardeded a forgotten control lock so soon?

Re: MEX: Aeroméxico flight AM2431
Because of my phugoid credentials of thousands of posts at multiple parlour-talking aviation fora. Because you question my credentials, I say go to Not_Hell to you and I am done with this thread- you have no idea what it is like to sit in a fixed chair in a basement with a toy yoke and turn final in a 750,000 lb virtual 747...Why did you discardeded a forgotten control lock so soon?
And, because it seems like it maneuvered down the runway, rotated, took flight and stayed greasy side down
(or do we call that underslung-engine-side-down when we try to pass ourselves off as aviation safety experts?).

Re: MEX: Aeroméxico flight AM2431
Does strike me as odd that the airframe would travel that far if the engines really did "fall off".

Final report out... and it is a mess from oh so many point of views.
Appetizer? The pilot flying was the person in the right seat who was neither the person assigned to be the FO in the flight (who relinquished his left seat and sat in the jumpseat instead) neither was he rated, qualified or authorized to operate as a flight crew member in this airplane.
I see three persons that should serve some jail time.
(Not that it had any bearing on the accident. Other than not taking off, I don't see that they could have done much to avoid it)

(and yes, this is a copy paste of what I posted there)

At least at AvHerald, I didn’t read much about improper control inputs or improper or delayed reactions.***Not that it had any bearing on the accident. Other than not taking off, I don't see that they could have done much to avoid it***
Yeah, beatings for all, but...
