Accident: Ameristar MD83 at Detroit on Mar 8th 2017, overran runway after rejected takeoff due to elevator malfunction
Take-off aborted 12 seconds after V1 when the plane would not rotate despite the pilot applying abnormally large back control column inputs.

Question for Dummy Pilot: Is there any indicator in the cockpit of an MD-80 that shows the actual position of the control surfaces (not the tabs)?
