Another 80's music group wreaking havoc still today. Their song "I Ran (so far away)" was about running from a crashed airplane no doubt.Russia's Ministry of Transport reported the aircraft suffered a bird strike into both engines while flying through a flock of sea gulls and landed in a field more than 1km from the airport.

I am very concerned as Evan reports that they briefly leveled at 700 feet. Is that a type specific procedure? I thought it was all cowboy improvisation when pilots choose a not_airport for a forced landing.

Well hell, it seems that there they can have a discussion, albeit crazy detailed stuff about colored hydraulic systems and acronyms, but let me try for a better discussion with saying that it seems the pilots did an excellent job landing the plane in a corn field with very short notice, with everyone walking away.
