Салли кто?

Sully who? Heroic Russian pilot averts near total air disaster.

In other news, communism heartlessly kills innocent birds.

Agronomically speaking, it’s not good for the corn nor soil compaction.

Speculation that decent fundamental and procedural airmanship was involved.

Russia's Ministry of Transport reported the aircraft suffered a bird strike into both engines while flying through a flock of sea gulls and landed in a field more than 1km from the airport.
Another 80's music group wreaking havoc still today. Their song "I Ran (so far away)" was about running from a crashed airplane no doubt.

Ural A321 at Moscow on Aug 15th 2019 results in some popped corn and a few slightly shabby engines.
I love the people just hanging about outside the airframe in the videos. What the f***, people?

I am very concerned as Evan reports that they briefly leveled at 700 feet. Is that a type specific procedure? I thought it was all cowboy improvisation when pilots choose a not_airport for a forced landing.

Well hell, it seems that there they can have a discussion, albeit crazy detailed stuff about colored hydraulic systems and acronyms, but let me try for a better discussion with saying that it seems the pilots did an excellent job landing the plane in a corn field with very short notice, with everyone walking away.

Score one for Boeing Bobby suggesting it was Komrade Sullyinski Sullenbergersky

In (post-)soviet Russia, you do not fly airplane. Corn field flies airplane.

Dead corn reduce capacity make wodka...

Seems to me that THAT is the hydraulic fluid capability WE should be concerned with!

True, although it may not do much to further the cause of safe aviation.
