You guys are being way too critical.

Just because there were no airplanes, runways, taxiways, hangars, or support infrastructure in the areas captured at said time by said armies, does not mean they were not "airports".

There are two perfectly good explanations for what's going on:
1) Slight temporal miscalculation.

One could say that conquering the land that the enemy could/would have used to build airports in the future is of high strategic importance indeed.
