Can turkeys fly?
Depends. Are you talking of the 787, the A350 or the A400M?

The only turkey I know that did fly was the Nimrod AEW3.

Of course big fat turkeys can fly. My mother in law is visiting for Christmas and she'll be taking an airplane.

Besides, wasn't a bunch of flying turkeys what took down Sully's airplane in January?

I've hunted turkey. Seen them fly many times, although not for great distances.

It's an energy management issue.

Drop them from your C-172 at 1000ft and, no matter what, they will fly all the way to the ground.

Yes, when they get the shot they fly a couple of feet.
