Drunk Douche Bag Does Pull Ups and Plane Descends and Diverts

Flight forced to land at KCI after drunken man wouldn’t stop doing pull-ups

October 02, 2018 05:41 PM

An “unruly” passenger who forced an unscheduled landing at Kansas City International airport on Monday night was apparently intoxicated and refused to stop using the aircraft’s overhead compartments to do pull-ups, according to Boston-area news outlets.

The flight — American Airlines flight 2763 — was enroute from Phoenix to Boston when it made an unscheduled landing in Kansas City about 7:45 p.m. because of the passenger’s behavior, according to a KCI spokesman.

Boston’s local CBS affiliate, WBZ-TV, reported the man was already intoxicated when he boarded the flight with a woman and two dogs.

“He was leaning up against where you put the bags overhead and a passenger came by and said ‘What are you going to do, some pull ups?’ and the guy actually grabbed on to it and started doing some pull ups on the plane in front of everybody,” one passenger told WBZ-TV.

The man then reportedly ordered more beer and alcohol while continuing to do pull-ups. Flight attendants eventually asked him “three or four times” to sit down.

The passenger refused and “really got verbally abusive,” calling the flight attendant names.

After the plane landed, the man was escorted off the flight and off KCI property but was not arrested or charged, according to the FBI.

The flight then continued on from Kansas City about 9:45 p.m., landing in Boston shortly after 1 a.m.

Southwest also unloaded a passenger this week after a yelling incident...

I have real misgivings about the human race sometimes (present company excluded).

Were the pull-ups relentless?

Thank you for making this a great Friday.

I would assume that lesser, carefully-measured pull ups would have kept the plane in-flight.

The hits just keep coming. The article said $5000 of fuel was dumped but what about the cost of the fuel burned on the approximately 2-hour flight, having the plane out of sequence to operate its next flight out of IAD, crew costs, extra crew lodging, a bag of peanuts for the coach passengers, etc. etc. I assume LHR also assessed its landing fee - isn't it something like 25 pounds / passenger?

United passenger forces flight return after allegedly hitting flight attendants, cursing at seat-back screen

excerpt:

The woman became so intoxicated she began swearing at her in-flight seat-back screen. Reports claim that an hour into the flight, she began making a scene and was escorted to the back of the plane, where she seemingly attacked two flight attendants.

The flight’s return cost more than $5,000 in fuel to be dumped.

By then the crew had exceed their Hours of Service and all passengers were forced to wait until the next day to fly.

'Unruly passengers' hit with largest-ever US fines
excerpt
Two airline passengers accused of "unruly behaviour" have been hit with the largest fines ever proposed by the US Federal Aviation Administration.

The five-figure penalties on the two flyers accused of violence are part of $2m (£1.5m) in fines levied this year.

* * *

In one incident, an American Airlines passenger travelling from Texas to North Carolina has been asked to pay a $81,950 fine for threatening to hurt a flight attendant. The attendant had offered to help the passenger after she fell into the aisle of the plane.

The unnamed passenger then allegedly pushed an airline worker and tried to open the cabin door. While flight attendants attempted to restrain her, she repeatedly hit one staff member in the head. When she was placed in cuffs, "she spit at, headbutted, bit and tried to kick the crew and other passengers", the FAA said in a news release.

In the other incident, the passenger was flying on Delta Air Lines from Las Vegas to Atlanta. She allegedly tried to "hug and kiss the passenger seated next to her, walked to the front of the aircraft to try to exit during flight; refused to return to her seat; and bit another passenger multiple times". That passenger, who is also unnamed, was physically restrained by crew members and has now been asked to pay a fine of $77,272.

Neither incident involved a failure to adhere to Covid measures.
